Trying it again....

I never thought I'd be one of those girls apologizing for being gone for such a long time, but I am. I have been posting everywhere else but here! I know...I'm sorry! (although my guess is that there really isn't anyone who reads this anyway)
I going to try and be back on here, because I'm starting a new adventure!
I'm getting MARRIED!!!!!!

So this blog may just get taken over with wedding stuff, but that is okay. I'm down with it, cause it's always been someone else's turn and now it's mine!

One and Done...Well Kind Of!

Last Saturday we all gathered to go and find a dress for Kalei's wedding.  She had made an appointment for us at Alfred Angelo and we had pinned tons of dresses to try on, yet when we got there things kind of fell apart.
We had an appointment, but no one could seem to find it or even take the time to find out who we were or what we needed.  So we picked out some dresses to try on.
We finally got someone to help us.  She put us all in one dressing room and then proceeded to open and shut the door on us as we changed.  We tried on a bunch of dresses. One that made Megs look like a mermaid another one that reminded me of a malo.  We tried on about 5 throughout the time.  The lady argued with Kalei about what her color was and was overly unhelpful.
As we were changing Kalei was able to secure an appointment at David's Bridal. Thank goodness!
When we finally made it out of Alfred Angelo we needed some sustenance and some liquid...

We walked into David's Bridal and it was quiet and calm, mind you it was 5pm on a Saturday night.  We met up with our super helpful attendant, who helped us pick out dresses and find sizes for everyone, so we could see what three of us would look like in the same dress.  She was even able to find dresses we liked in the color Kalei wants. Surprising!
The first one we tried on there was amazing! We all loved it and it happened to be the one we ended up going with.  It's plum, long, has lace cap sleeves, a key hole back, and the down the back of the dress is a zipper and there is a ruching along it.
We did try on more after that, but none of them really compared to the first one, so we were one and done!

Retail Therapy

Yesterday started super amazing. My kids were wonderful and we were so into Math that we almost forgot to go to Library.  Yet come afternoon, they day dwindled into frustration and anger (not mine) and finally tears!
So I decided I needed some girly time with eyebrow waxing, gel removal, dinner, BIG BEERS, and dress shopping!  Bridesmaid dress shopping, if you will.
We had been talking blackberry purple and that is about it.  Long or short, long sleeves, strapless, laces...all still in the conversation...
So I tried on and on and on and on.  I found a few I liked and some that I loved and luckily none that I hated.
I was slightly nervous about going, cause I didn't think any would fit (luckily I was a size smaller than I thought) and I just going to be done eating, so I thought I might be bloated, but none of that happened...
Look them over and pick your favorite.

Found Pictures

Just as I was looking through my pictures I found a few gems that hadn't made it to the bloggity blog...

My cousin and I went to a wedding this summer and proceeded to have a few drinks ... and after her water she was pretty sauced!

I, on the other hand, was feeling very well hydrated.

20 Years Later and Still In Love

They had the big wedding and invited everyone, but when it came to renewing their vows 20 years later it was small and intimate and filled with so many personal touches. The boys started it off quoting a little Princess Bride, there were claps of thunder and shots of lightening and she summed up her vows by saying, "I'm so glad that I don't have to wait to kiss you till the end," and then planted a kiss on him.  The day was full of love and I was so excited to be there.

BTE Spokane: Matt and Diane Wedding

He's the baby of 4 older siblings and that is how I met him. He came to visit his second oldest brother, Chris, at CWU and during that weekend Chris brought him and his sister, Beth, over to meet all of us at the CCM house.  I'm so glad he did.
Matt is an amazing guy.  He is so full of life and ready to dive into everything head first, which makes me so glad that he met someone that will do that with him.  After getting engaged and being married in less than a year, they are off (as week after their wedding) to teach down in Mexico. I am so happy for them both and hope they have an amazing time learning and growing together.

Decorations were gorgeous at their recpetion:

Diane laughing as Matt danced around her and then dropped to his knee to get the garter.

Beth and Bret's 2 youngest: Audrey in the blue and Mary in the yellow

Table decorations:

Susan, Chris's wife, with their little one Katie

Chris and Katie

Katie loves to dance I've heard and so does Bret and his second to oldest Sarah

And I had to add a shot for the photographer that I loved

Check her out, she does great work and took photos at Chris's wedding as well. (It was a year plus one day ago from Matt's big day.)
