YEAH! TV!

We are up and running again! I'm so excited. I got a new converter box off of eBay that showed up in my mail while I was gone camping. Of course as soon as I got home I was setting it up and trying and praying that it would work. I connected all the cords and turned it on. It came up with a set-up wizard, so I went through that and no signal. "What the Heck?" I thought. I tried again and again and again and nothing. I even had a friend try to no avail.
It sucked!!!
I decided to do it manually and not through the wizard. I pushed the menu button on the remote, I moved the yellow blinking box to channel, then to auto scan, and then pressed the return button. The screen went black and said it was scanning and then it said NO SIGNAL!!! Boo!!!
I finally got mad and just turned it off and walked away.
Today I tried again.
I went through the steps again, but instead of pressing the RETURN button, I pressed OK. The screen stayed blue and it started looking for channels. Each time it found a channel the blue button the on the screen lit up. I was sooo happy. Each time it went blue, I jumped up and down!!!
Now I'm watching the WORLD CUP!!! Go Dutch! and then later I'll be watching Big Brother, So You Think You Can Dance, Friday Night Lights...and so on and so on!

Big Brother!!!

In 8 days, Big Brother's back and I'm super excited. They just announced the house guests and I've already got a favorite! Can you guess?

I so can't wait!!!!

Speaking of TV...I haven't been able to watch it because my converter box blew up and now just makes a high pitched screeching noise. I haven't really missed it, but now with me being home and me wanting to watch tv, it kind of sucks. So I had to make some decisions. Get another box, get cable, or get a new tv, so I don't need a box. So many options and all costly!
After debating it for a bit. I decided to do some pricing. Cable was going to be $17 a month, a new tv at least $200 or more, and another box...well see here's the thing. Another box was hard to find. All stores stopped selling them over a year ago, which is about when the whole switch took effect. Online they were outrageous, so I took my plight to ebay and began bidding on different converter boxes.
I started bidding on one and I was outbid. So I found another one and started bidding. Every time I put in a bid, the other person bid a dollar higher. I couldn't figure out how he (cause obviously he is a boy) was doing it. Then I realized there was a button where you could put your max. bid in and the computer would bid for you until it got to your max. I thought it would be perfect, so I put $40 in and watched the bidding happen. As I was watching I found another button that showed me other items the same person was selling. I clicked on it and found another converter box, but no one was bidding on it and it was only $18. What?!?! I just put in a bid for $26 or the other one...
I tried to go back and change my max. bid, but once that is in, there is no changing it! Boo! I was stuck!!! Luckily for me the bid only went up to $31 and I won it, so with shipping I will pay $41. The other one though, only ended up going for $26.10. Booo!

TV Updates

There's been some big news in TV lately like the whole change to digital...that never happened. Actually there are things that are happening that I am super excited about.

Brothers and Sisters is really heating up! I'm enjoying all the story lines and can't wait to find out if Tommy really goes to jail.

Friday Night Lights is back on NBC. I was sad that it wasn't only on Direct TV, but I was able to find it online. So I've already watched most of the shows, but I will start watching again when the shows are new to me.

Amazing Race has started again and I'm watching it. I haven't ever really watched it, but am super excited about it this time. I have no favorites yet, but will soon.

I thought I was done watching Ugly Betty because it was really getting boring, but with a new love interest for Betty and Daniel running after his woman who is sick. I'm interested again.

Private Practice and Greys Anatomy 2 hour special where they crossed-over into each others shows has also renewed my interest in both shows.

I'm done with the City, oh wait you didn't know I was watching it, I'm not. It's not interesting.

Jason from the Bachelor was dumb in picking Melissa and then letting her go for Molly. Molly is dumb for being with Jason after picking someone else, dumping her on National TV and then picking her. Who's to say she won't be next. Needless to say I'm done with the Bachelor, but I'm excited about Bachelorette with Jillian, from this past Bachelor.

Melissa has moved on and will replace Nancy O'Dell on Dancing with the Stars. It might actually make me watch it, but then again maybe not.

TV Updates

I know you are all wondering what happened...I thought I would have to wait another day to find out, but the schedule has changed to BB airing on Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday night instead of the normal Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday schedule.
Jen and Parker went home.
Sadddd, but not really now her boyfriend in "real" life can play his own game with his partner. There is a new head of household and we will just have to see how my other two teams do.

Also I heard, that Duane "Dog" Chapman will be back on air soon. YEAH! Hawaii will now become safe again. Oh wait, he was still doing what he did before, just not getting taped.
