Wednesday Hodgepodge
1. It's still May, right? When were you last in the middle of something that might be described as mayhem?
Mayhem seems to happen throughout the day in my classroom, although I like order and tend to have a very structured room. I think the last time mayhem actually broke out was when my mom came to school. The kids get so excited to see her, because she bakes cake with the birthday kids for that month.
2. When did you last feel dismayed?
I'm dismayed every time things don't seem to work out the way I think they should. The last time was just today when I thought I was going to be able to make a big move, but it didn't happen and now I'm back to square one.
3. What's a food combination you like, but other people may find strange?
Saimin and Grilled Cheese. Saimin: either beef, oriental, pork, last choice chicken. Grilled Cheese: mild cheddar with Miracle Whip and butter on the outside.
4. "It is never too late to be what you might have been." Do you think that's true? Why or why not?
It's totally true. You always have the opportunity to be what you might have been. Life is never set in stone, you can make it be what you want it to be.
5. US News and World Report listed the best historic destinations in the US as follows-Washington D.C, Philadelphia PA, Williamsburg VA, Charleston SC, Boston MA, Richmnd VA, Savannah, GA, Santa Fe NM, Yellowstone, San Antonio TX, San Francisco CA, New Orleans LA, and Charlottesville VA.
Of those listed how many have you seen in person? Which two sites on the list would you most like to see in person?
I've seen Washington DC, Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; Yellowstone; San Francisco, CA; and New Orleans LA. I would love to go to Boston, MA and catch a baseball game, and take in the sites. Then to Philadelphia PA, to do the same.
6. May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. If you had to participate in a single fitness activity for the next half hour, which activity would you choose?
I love physical activity and sports. I think I would swim for the next half hour as I'm super hot and need to relax. I would also not mind playing volleyball, softball, basketball, walking, hiking, golfing…almost anything!
7. What did you like best about the city, town, or neighborhood where you grew up?
I grew up all over the place. Spokane, Wa; Hawaii; Springfield, Or; Federal Way, Wa; And what I liked the most is the small town atmosphere and being able to be out until the street lights came on.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
I really hate being disappointed. I've worked all year to get my kids ready for all the state testing they will be taking this month and so far it seems like none of it is paying off. They seem to be struggling through the testing and answering the questions.
