Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 154
1. Are you doing anything special to mark this season of Advent? If so please share.
Sadly, nothing special for Advent other than moving my Christmas star along my Advent Calendar. Also sadly the candy that used to be in the calendar is long gone.
2. Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen...and of course you recall, the most famous reindeer of all...so, which reindeer name best describes you this week?
This week I'm dancing along with everything that is coming my way. No reason to get my panties in a bunch when things don't work out, just gonna keep on dancing. No reason to complain when you know you can't fix it, just gonna keep on dancing. No reason to rush on the icy streets, just gonna keep on dancing (well, and slow down). No reason to be sad that your favorite show had it's Fall Finale (and seriously, when did this start happening?!?!), just gonna keep on dancing...this week anyway.
3. What's worse-too quiet or too loud? Which have you had more of lately?
Too loud is worse than too quiet. You can't get away from too loud, but you can make a little noise if it's too quiet. I've had some surprisingly quiet moments at school this week considering it's close to break and the kids are barely holding it together. At home things have been super quiet and I've been loving it.
4. This question comes to you from Zoanna over at A Penchant for Pens-thanks Zo!
When you are administratively gifted, how often do you find yourself not trusting less gifted people to do what they've committed to do? If you are not so gifted that way, but are reliable, how do you feel when the stronger person (in that area) goes ahead and covers it before giving you a chance to come through?
I trust less gifted people just fine to do what they have committed to do, but I also am practical and realize that if they don't do it, then I will be pinch hitting for them.
5. What is your most dreaded task relating to the holidays? Your most looked forward to holiday task?
The most dreaded task relating to holidays at my house is ....there is none I love it all....oh wait, putting everything away at the end is a bit of a pain. My favorite part is getting together with my family and playing games, eating, and taking naps all day long.
6. Facebook has released its list of the 'most talked about' topics of 2013. Pope Francis took the number one spot. Does that surprise you? He was followed by election, royal baby, typhoon, and Harlem Shake. Your thoughts? What was your most talked about topic in 2013? (Facebook, around the kitchen table, or wherever it is you talk)
The fact that the Pope was the most discussed topic this year is very interesting. I wouldn't have thought that. The other ones, yeah, I could see that. My most spoke about topic was probably all the 5ks I did this year or my summer journey that took me all over the PNW, to a photography workshop, and out to my Grandma's house. (It was all blogged about in the BTE label, if you want to read about it.)
7. What's something you consider a necessity that others might view as a luxury?
I have 3 things I do for myself each month and I love and adore them. Yes, I could do without them, but I love them to pieces. One is I get monthly massages. It really relieves the tension in my body and makes me a whole less crabby. Two is I go to the chiropractor. He adjusts me and moves my body back into alignment, so that I can function appropriately. The thirst thing is that I have a cleaning lady. I love her and love coming home to a clean home once a month. Yes, I am a single person and I have only have a 2 bedroom apartment and I do keep a really neat and clean house, but the last thing I want to do on the weekends is do all my deep cleaning (toilets, bathroom, vaccumming, windows, dusting, and arranging things that are out of place). I keep a pretty busy schedule and there really isn't time for cleaning. Any free time I want to go and have fun with my friends.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Last night I went to bed at 11:30 pm. I woke up at 4:30 to get to the gym, workout, and then to work by 7:30 for my meeting. I hit the wall at 9:45 and was done for the day. Thank goodness the kids were decent. Sadly, my coffee wasn't. Stupid 7-11's machine wasn't working and I got a weak-ass peppermint mocha. Yuck! Tomorrow will be better. I'm going to bed early and making sure I get a good cup of joe!
