Yellowstone Vacation

After my triathlon, Riles and I headed over to Montana to see my Grandma and ultimately down to Yellowstone National Forest for some camping and seeing of animals. The car got packed and checked

and then we were on our way....

We saw these animals before we even made it to our camp spot. Can you guess what they are? Moose?

Then we headed down south set up our tent, took a walk around the lake, and Riles cooked us some dinner.

The following morning we had some coffee and saw this guy when we headed out to Old Faithful.

Here is Old Faithful before it erupted...please look past the crap in the picture. My lens obviously had some issues!

A picture while we waited...so glad we got there when we did. Old Faithful typically goes off about every 93 min. give or take 10 min. We only had to wait about 20 min. thank goodness.

There she went!

After it was done, we went and toured the Old Faithful Lodge, which is amazing. Then it was off for another drive to find a picnic area.

On the way back we stopped and took a guided tour of the thumb pots. The water bubbles up from below and is super hot, like 180 degrees hot. As it reacts to the different types of soil the ground has it changes color.

This one has hot water coming out of it even though it's under water.

The sun was out the whole time we were on vacation, which was wonderful cause it was also warm.

But at night it was freezing and we were wearing sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks, and Riles even wore a stocking cap one night.
