Week-in-Review

This week kept me gone from 5am til I returned home between 5 or 8 or 9:30pm. It was a week of late nights and early mornings. It was a great week with my kids. They are a lot of fun! I just have to remember to slow down for my first graders and to let my second graders be second graders and not constant examples or teachers for the first graders.

  • We sang and danced to My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean and the Hokey Pokey.

  • We made more shadow art.
  • We painted and designed and decorated our own flowers.
  • We read books with people from Page Ahead and my teaching partner got a picture taken and a quote in an article by the Kent Reporter.

School personally sucked when I found out that one of my friends was going to have to move because our numbers didn't support that many teachers and she was the lowest on the totem pole. We ended up getting more kids (8) and she didn't have to move. YEAH! Also we have been trying to put one more thing into our schedule that we don't have time for and we've been in meeting after meeting for it and it doesn't seem like it is going to work itself out easily! Oh the joys of being in a school where your voice is typically the final say although it shouldn't be because I'm not the principal and I need to be questioned and asked why I think the idea is going to work not have everyone just take it as the be-all-end-all. Well, on to bigger and better things.

  • I worked out 4 times this week in the gym and danced hula once.

  • I went out to drinks with a co-worker and had sushi with the parents.

  • I cooked 2 times this week at home. I made chicken fettuccine with garlic Parmesan and used my, "You Grill, Girl" Cookbook to make BBQ chicken with canned potatoes and grilled garlic.

  • I started to edit all the photos I took last weekend and booked a senior shoot for two weekends from now.

  • I planned a brunch with my co-workers and last night we all had a game night.

Needless to say life is getting busier and busier as we speak, but please don't think that means I don't have time for myself, because I do. I find it and use it to the best of my ability. It usually is spent watching TV on my computer or answering emails or catching up on other people's blogs or lives or sleeping. What I want to have time to do is just hang out with my friends. I miss summer because of that. I wish I could have more time to just be and go and visit friends.

And if you didn't know:

I got this at JoAnn. I thought it was super cute, although I don't know if that is the right words, basically I wanted it for my house because I thought it was cool and it made me laugh. Now every morning when I go in the bathroom, I see it and think "Are you going to be rolling like that today?" Then I giggle and think, "This IS how I roll!" So I thought I might add the song Riding Dirty onto my blog to go with this post, but then I saw the words and thought, "Oh no, can't do that." Check them out...it's pretty crazy, especially with the white man words next to it just in case you couldn't figure out what he was really saying. Riding Dirty

I've been trying to get my computer up and running at a functional speed, but it has been slow, so blogging has been lite. (because I want to put pictures with what I write. I have to first put them on the computer and then edit them, which takes up memory-then my computer is slow.)Sorry!!!
