Wednesday Hodgepodge
1. Share one fun thing you did last week, while the Hodgepodge was on 'spring break'.
Last week, I got the wonderful opportunity to go to the Mariners Open House. It was amazing. I had a lot of fun. I would love to do it again and it made me even more excited for Opening Night.
2. April 10th is National Sibling Day...do you have siblings, and if so are you close? Share a favorite story featuring one or all of your siblings. If you don't have siblings, did you ever wish you did?
I have a sister and we have gotten a lot closer over the years. We had a typical sister relationship growing up. Sometimes getting along, sometimes fighting. She is the one I'm holding in the picture above.
3. Is it important to you to 'buy American'? Why or why not? How much of an effort do you make to 'buy American'? If you're not American, insert your own country in the blank.
For me, it is super important to buy American and even more so, to support small business. I think it's very important to keep the small businesses in business as that is supporting the people here in America. It also keeps our money here to help people here rather than sending money to other countries.
4. Besides The Bible, what book has impacted your spirituality in some way?
I really enjoy reading Max Lucado.
5. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Do you find rainy days calming or depressing? When were you last caught in a rainstorm? What's blooming in your neck of the woods today?I
I soo don't like rain! It's super depressing here in Washington and the fact that the sky is grey all the time doesn't help. The crazy thing is that rainstorms in Hawaii are totally different. When it's a warm and the sky is blue and the sun is shinning and the rain is falling it's totally different. I wouldn't mind being caught in one of those rainstorms.
The daffodils are blooming now and so are the cherry blossoms, but so far that is about it.
6. What's your favorite yellow food?
Hmm, does Top Ramin count? I don't know if it's yellow, it's kind of more beige. Only yellow foods I can think of are ones with lemons and I'm not really a lemon fan..oh wait, I got it BUTTERED MOVIE POPCORN!!! Yum!
7. April is National Poetry Month...what's a poem that holds special meaning for you, and why is it special?
I love so many poems, one of my favorites is by Shel Silverstein called
Mrs. McTwitter
Mrs. McTwitter, the babysitter.
I think she's a little bit crazy.
She thinks a babysitter is supposed to sit upon the baby.
It's special because Shel Silverstein is one of the first poets that I read.
I also used to write poetry and keep it in a book. I loaned it to a friend and she moved taking my book with her, so I've lost many of them. I do know I have one somewhere and when I find it, I will add it to here.
You Should Have Been Here
8. Insert your own random thought here.
This week is my Spring Break and I'm loving it soo much. It started with a girls weekend at the Tulalip Casino going to the spa. The week has already included the Mariners Home Opener and a hike up Little Mt. Si and will include birthday dinner with my parents, breakfast with a friend, and some movies. Then the week will end with another girls weekend in Port Angeles.
