Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 112

1.  Chinese New Year will be celebrated on February 10th, and 2013 is the year of the snake. When did you last see a snake?  Are you okay around snakes or do they give you the shivers?

Yea! I'm the year of the snake. I'm sure the last time I saw a snake was at the zoo. I've been taking my kids every year on a field trip.  I'm totally fine around them and have never really had a problem with them.  I think it all comes from being out on my grandparents farm and seeing them.  They were more fascinating than anything.
2. The color red in Chinese culture usually means good luck.  Do you believe in luck?

I do believe in luck and I wish I had more of it, but I also believe in predestination, which then makes luck null and void. It would make luck something that was supposed to happen, we just didn't know it, so it looks like luck.
3. sledding-ice skating-building a snowman...if given a choice, which activity would you choose?  Which of the three have you done most recently?

Ahh, I don't like being cold, so I really would choose none of them.  Yet I love thrills, so sledding pulls me outside and I love having a snowman in my yard when there is snow, therefore the only one that wouldn't pull me outside is ice skating.  Having broke my growth plate in my ankle when I was in 5th grade rollerskating, slightly stops me from doing any skating type activities at all.
And I would have to say building a snowman would have tied with sledding, as I did both the same day over at my sister's house 2 Thanksgivings ago.  We don't really get snow at my house.
4.  Ralph Waldo Emerson is credited as saying, "The years teach much which the days never knew."  Where have you seen this quote played out in your own life?

Hmmh, that is a hard one.  I'll come back to it.
5. When was the last time you ate a cupcake?

I had a cupcake last weekend for my birthday.  It was a rootbeer float cupcake and it was delicious!
6. What's something you can't say no to?

People.  I have a really hard time putting me first and not them, especially since my love language is quality time.
7.  Are you a doodler?

I used to doodle a lot, but I've become soooooo OCD about neatness that I can't doodle on my papers, because it makes it look messy to me.
8.  Insert your own random thought

I'm glad that this week is almost over, although it didn't feel super long, I'm ready for the weekend and doing nothing.

All this talk about cupcakes makes me yearn for a small sweet treat! Can't remember the last time I had a cupcake!

A rootbeer float cupcake sounds interesting. I might have to try that...I'm trying to imagine the taste and I can't. I do like rootbeer.

We're in the Northeast so expecting a blizzard today. Its probably going to be too windy to build a snowman, but there will definitely be some hot chocolate in my weekend : )

Aaah, Joyce the cupcake frosting tasted like rootbeer and was spot on in the taste. The cupcake was vanilla and mixed together made a great root beer float.

Robin, I don't do cupcakes often, but it for sure hit the spot.
