Yesterday I went out and hit the first golf ball of the season! Yes, I'm a little late, but better late than never! Plus it's finally just starting to get warm and DRY enough here to do some golfing. We went out to a new course yesterday, as mine was packed! (like over an hour wait!) We got a tee-time for 12:53 and headed out to the range to hit some balls and warm up.
All my balls were going left! Nothing straight! What happened to me! What happened to my nice straight balls? They never did show up on the range, so we headed out to the course.
The course had no "starter", so we just bellied up with everyone else and waited and waited and waited our turn. Finally when we made it to the front of the line a dude wanted to go with us, which you all already know I hate cause I'm not tooo good and I feel the pressure and wont do well, but of course I felt sorry for him, cause the group ahead of us was totally rude and ignored him, so he came with us!
It turned out to be great as he helped both of us with our game, well me mostly as my hitting was super awful. As we started to play the course, I started to notice the holes were really far away and many of the holes couldn't be seen from the tee box. I thought to myself, "There is no way this a par 3!!!" Well come to find out, I had just assumed it was a 9 hole par 3, but really it was just 9 holes and the pars were all over the place. Oh my!!! For my first time out!!! Goodness Gracious!!
After I relaxed, my game got better and it wasn't too awful. I for sure got a great workout as the greens were on rolling hills and I was hitting my ball about every 50 ft. or so. When we got back to the clubhouse, I was spent and in need of a drink and no wonder it was 4:30. It had taken us over 3 and a half hours to play ONLY 9 holes. I will say we did have to wait a bit as the course was crowded, but no wonder I was done and ready to go to bed as soon as I got home!
