A few weeks ago, I was looking ahead to my up coming workouts and how many minutes I was going to be biking and swimming together on the same day and then I saw last Friday's times: 29 min. swim (not worried about that at all!) and 58 min bike. I was flabbergasted! There was NO WAY, in h-e-double hockey sticks, that I could bike for AN HOUR! As I continued to lament about this, I shared my thoughts with my roomy.
Me: "There is no way that I'm going to be able to bike for an hour!!! I don't like to bike and the last time I was on the bike, my butt started hurting around the 30 min. mark, how am I going to make it an hour?"
Roomy: "How many minutes have you been biking lately?"
Me: "Oh just 29 and 43 and 53."
Roomy: "53 min, isn't that far away from 58 min."
Me: "Oh, I guess not, huh."
But in my head I had rounded up the 58 to an hour, which seemed like forever! And when I was thinking about the 53 min. I had rounded down to 45 min. So to me there was going to be a big gap in what I was really doing. It's soo funny how our heads can make things seem so impossible when they really are only 5 min. apart!
