On Saturday a small group of family and friends gathered to celebrate an event that doesn't happen too often anymore. You could feel the anticipation in the air as the guests arrived and quickly found seats. Shortly after the last guest sat down, the guests of honor arrived and the room erupted with shouts of Surprise!!! Happy 40th Anniversary. The couple, Doug and Lana, were totally surprised. They thought they would just be having lunch with their boys, daughter-in-laws (minus one), and grandkids, but really it was lunch with about 40 people including them and the missing daughter-in-law.
Great stories were told, a wonderful meal was shared, and a great time was had by all. The girls did a great job of decorating and the boys and grandkids did a great job of distracting them to pull it off.
