Celebrating Started Yesterday

When I walked up to my classroom yesterday morning, I found this staring back at me. I was so happy. A white chocolate peppermint mocha and 6 cinnamon mini-donuts. They were so good. My teammates had planned a little celebration that happened throughout the day for me. (It all happened yesterday because we are off from school today and my birthday is tomorrow.) I got tulips at recess and after lunch we sat down to red velvet cupcakes from Starbucks. Everything was so yummy.
My mom volunteers in my classroom at the end of each month and comes in and bakes cake with the kids who celebrated their birthday in past the month. Usually she has 2-3 kids helping her bake, do the dishes, and frost the cake, but this month it was only 1 kid. I have never gotten to make cake with her because I've always had to be teaching, but this year was different because I had an assistant come in at the perfect time. I gave the class over to her and she taught while I got to go out and make cake with my mom and Ashley, who turned 8 this month. We had a great time and the cake turned out wonderful.
