This Snow...It's Got Me Going CRAZY!

It's been so long since we've had some, two years, that I kind of forgot what happens over here. The towns shut down and everything comes to a grinding halt. Schools get closed. Stores close early. The news gives us 24/7 coverage of how it's snowing, where it's icy, and what we should be doing at home about it. Blah, blah, blah. I wish we could be a little more prepared for these things, so that we could just got about our merry way. Many friends in other places, laugh at us "wet siders" who can't handle the snow and all I'd like to say to them is IT'S NOT ME! I know what to do. I can handle it. I don't like to, but I've GOT IT!

So this week we had 3 late starts because of ice and some snow, then started break 2 days early. Therefore there was no Read In (kids where their pj's, get to eat pancakes, and read all day) or any staff party (that I somehow got put in charge of). I've had way too much time on my hands and have:
  • cleaned and rearranged my pantry.

  • domestic-cooking things from scratch and decorating the house for Christmas.

  • gone through my clothes and stuff and gotten two bags ready for Goodwill.

  • went on a walk.

  • emailed Tanya, my hula sister, and we both decided that the snow makes us delirious.

  • braved the roads and did some Christmas shopping in Fed. Way and Southcenter on Saturday and took myself up to Costco to finish up a few gifts.

  • put plastic up on my front windows, but am still waiting to do the bedroom windows (must save some things for tomorrow)

  • watched almost the whole season of Friday Night Lights through Direct TV. It's not on NBC anymore, which is sad, because I so love it.
  • added new friends to my facebook account.

  • practiced hula
  • edited umpteen pictures and delivered cds.

  • vacuumed
  • addressed and sent Christmas cards (if you didn't get one, it's because I lost your address-sorry email me your address and I'll send you one)

Soon I'll have to start doing the things I really dislike for instance:

  • laundry (just because it's not in my place, it sucks)

  • dusting

  • cleaning the bathroom
Or I could just add more things to the fun list that I haven't done yet:
  • make a snowman with a funny face left in front of my landlords place.

  • create a snow angel family in front of my place.

  • shovel snow in front of someone's door so they think they are snowed in (yet they really would be because we don't have any back doors to our place)

  • take a sled and go sledding on the golf course.

  • call some friends and have conversation with someone other than myself.

  • go and get a drink at our bar...the nice thing is I can walk there, just don't know if anyone else will be there.

  • watch the movies I so desperately needed that I went out in the snow for them on Friday and haven't watched them yet. I have Mama Mia, Reign Over Me, and Sex In The City.

  • anything else?
Here are some shots of the thing that is making me go crazy. The first set were taken on Friday before the "big" storm hit. We'd only had lite amounts of snow here in the valley.

Since then it's been snowing pretty consistently. You can't see any grass and the road, bushes, and cars are pretty covered as well.

you could always venture up to Fairwood and come hang out with me. I'm also going stir crazy here! email me if you're interested. ;)

luckily boss ok'd me checking voicemails from home so I have *some* work to do and a friend gave me a 100Gb hard drive full of movies and tv episodes. Can you imagine how much harder this would be if we didn't have computers?

I wish I lived in Kent, here looks like there is no snow over there. Two trees came down in our yard and we haven't been able to move our cars. I hate the feeling of being stuck at home...groan. I wish I could go to work...did I just say that? I dont know what is worse that I said I wish I was at work or that I really mean it.
