The stress and the pressure are starting to build and it is starting to get crazy. We've danced facing almost every wall in the halau, except the one with the mirrors. We've danced in a circle facing out. We've danced as kumu walked around us making sure we knew our dances and that we were all together. We've danced and danced and danced some more.
During all of this dancing, I can feel the sweat falling down my neck and his eyes watching my every movement. I keep telling myself to calm down and just dance, watch the peripheries and just dance, make a flower and just dance. As long as I keep dancing then I will be fine.
It's when my stomach gets tied up in knots and I feel like I am going to hurl and I am on the brink of tears after getting in trouble for whistling (a second night in a row) that I need to remember to just dance.
picture taken in january, when it is super cold in halau. there have been no photos taken in the past three weeks, as the photographers have been dancing.
