Repairmen

What is the correct thing to do when you have repairmen come into your house to fix things? Are you able to go about your business or should you stay with them?

In getting my DSL fixed this week, I had that dilemma to figure out. I chose to go and do some stuff while he worked a couple of times he asked some questions and I would come back into the room and chat with him. While talking to him I figured out he had a stable job for 8 years, his anniversary date for work is Feb.14. He is dedicated to his work, because he came back to my house after coming earlier and my manager was rude to him. He doesn't have anyone to go home to. He was off the following day. He is my new best friend because he fixed my DSL (my comment not his.) He asked me three times at the end if there was anything else he could do for me. I said no and then he left.

When I sat down at my computer again, in front of me was his name and phone number. I know I didn't write it, he left it for me. I giggled and wondered, do all repairmen meet people like this?
