What Are Politics Coming To?

While opening my web browser tonight, I found on MSN.com a small little blurb about being an Obama Girl. I as slightly intrigued, so I clicked on it and there I was presented a video with a semi-clothed young lady dancing provocatively to a song about how she likes Obama. I was slightly appalled, but then the next video came up and it was Obama Girl vs. Guliani Girl. I thought to myself, OMGoodness, what are politics coming to? Are the candidates resorting to this type of message to appeal to the younger crowds? Do the candidates even know that these videos exist? Why are people making these? Will these videos really help the candidate to win? And is anyone getting any financial gain out of this?
So I pose these questions to you and the video, so you can decide for yourself. For me it did nothing.

My thought is that it's intended to be funny. The writing is funny and clever. I'm sure the candidates have nothing to do with it's making. They probably laughed when they saw it... well if they know humor they laughed. loveth your beloved sister

I saw an interview with the gal who started the whole thing. She is as smart as you would think she is :) Apparently, she does not know anything about him or his politics. She even was smart enough to say that she doesn't know who she will vote for, yet. She also made a comment that she doesn't really make it to the polls. She did the video because she thought he was good looking. She just wanted to show her talents too :) His camp said that they had nothing to do with the production of the video and he was flattered. He encouraged her to learn more about the issues and stand behind him based on politics. No word/comment from his wife. Will it help or hinder their political effort. Neither, I would say. It helps with name recognition. Maybe some 18 yr old guys will be inclined to vote from him thinking the victory video from these girls might have some more T&A. I am sure that the candidates themselves would rather not have videos like this out there. Might hurt their credibilty if media takes to reporting on this type of story rather than their efforts. But, I have to say that the media did a good job in keeping it low key. Seriously, at the end of the day who really cares about these women flaunting their sexuality for "fame"
