Mom's Day

It's that day again that we celebrate and thank our mom's for everything they have done. For the past few years during Christmas, I have been filling a book for my dad with all my memories about him and I, so today I would share some memories that I have of my mom focusing on the senses. Five senses = five presents. Presents that represent something in our past that we have shared.
Taste: When we were kids and would go to the mall, before we left we would always get to stop at the Sees candy store and have a sample, but we each would also get a butterscotch lollipop for a quarter. So I bought my mom some Sees lollipops.

Touch: My mom loves things that are soft and she would always tell us when we went shopping for her "Christmas" pajamas, make sure they are soft inside. So I bought her some super soft slippers to go with her pajamas.

Smell: At night when my mom would tuck me into bed, she would have just finished brushing her teeth and washing her face, just like me and when she would come in to kiss me goodnight. She always smelled like Oil of Olay, so I bought her some.

See: My mom's favorite flower is an Iris, so when ever I see iris's I think of my mom, so I bought her a picture of an iris.

Hear: When my sister and I were kids, my mom would play country music in our house. I didn't like it and told her I would never listen to it. Little did I know that it would grow on me and I would be listening to it all the time when I got older. Her favorite singer was Kenny Loggins when we were little and she even went to his concert, so I got her a best of Kenny cd.

I love my mom and all that she has done for me and continues to do for me. I hope that some day I will be able to be as good as a mother as she is.
