I gave so much over this Christmas. I wanted to make sure that I had the right gift for everyone. Something that they would just adore and wouldn't be something that would go on the shelf to be re gifted. In all my giving, I never expected anything back. I gave openly and freely.
So why does it hurt so bad when you don't get one? I just don't know. It's just a gift...it's really nothing, but then again it's everything. It tells you how that person feels about you. It says that they thought about you when you weren't together. It says so much.
The thing with the gift is that it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. It could be special note. It could be dinner and a foot massage. It could be a coupon book made up with things you could do together. It is just something to say that I was thinking about you or that this reminded me of you.
