Week-in-Review

Although this week seemed to fly by there were times, that I thought the weekend would never end.
  • School was a crazy mess in the fact that the first three days were not normal at all, which seemed to send the kids into some sort of a spin. I had a sub for training on Monday, Tuesday was Open House, and Wednesday was a half day for the kids. It also meant that my voice at the end of each day was super sore and my throat was hurting each night.
  • Wednesday's half day led to more training for us, the teachers, which meant me feeling more overwhelmed because they were dumping more stuff on us that the "district/state" wants us to do. It just means more paper work and less fun time with the kids. I was ready just to come home and be told that all of that didn't matter, it was me being with the kids was what really mattered, but no one was here to tell me that so I called my phone a friend and she did a great job of calming me down.
  • Hula is getting more intense as the show gets closer. I understand that he wants us to be the best and have everything per-fek(insert dad's accent here), but when I am coming home sore and I still am not looking at a 6-pack stomach with all the hip movement we are doing, it gets frustrating. I know it will be beautiful at our show. I am going to be sewing my brains out for the next two weeks. I have costumes and lei's to make.
  • So with life going so quickly, it seems like I never get time alone. I always seem to be on the run until last night. I was able to slow down and spend some time at my house doing some cleaning, grocery shopping, eating (my own food), and just relaxing and it was so nice.

Tonight I am going dancing and Sunday we have hula practice, so my weekend is full and then it is back to school for my fourth week. It is probably time to get some grades going and filling in that grade book, because before long it will be time for report cards and fall conferences.
