Little did I know how much I relied on my ears when I teach. I noticed that once I started teaching my ears went into overdrive and I could hear for miles. Things all over the place. It is kind of like that heightened awareness thing that new mothers get. I got it. I could hear everything. Even things I didn't want to hear, I heard.
For the past couple of weeks, I have been coming to school sick, (which many of you teachers do because it is too much work to put plans together to be gone) and trying to teach. Well one day when I came to school my ears were plugged and everything I tried wouldn't help them clear themselves. So I was teaching and it sounded like I was in a wind tunnel. Everything was louder than usual and my voice seemed far away. No longer could I hear the students side conversations, that I could see going on. No longer could I differenciate who was talking and who wasn't. I was at a loss and my teaching was a loosing battle, so I took a day off.
FYI: I am trying to get a video of hula pictures and other pictures up so y'all will see the wonders of my new camera.

Been there and totally know where you're coming from! I'm glad you took the day off, sometimes you really need some R & R! Hope you're feeling better :)
