Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol 162
1.What makes love last?
Communication. It helps everything.
2. The Beatles made their US debut fifty years ago this week. Are you a fan? If so, what's your favorite Beatles tune?
Nope, not really a fan or not a fan of the Beatles. I'm indifferent. They have made many wonderful songs that have inspired many musicians and much music throughout the years.
3. Valentine's Day-your thoughts? Do you celebrate in any way? Do anything special for the people you love? Expect anything special from the people who love you?
Valentine's Day is huge in school. Kids love it. They love to give and receive them. I celebrate with them every year. I used to give them really big and elaborate gifts, but as I've found over the years is that they receive so much that they really don't notice the ones I take hours on, I've since turned to more simple ones. Last year I received this one from a student.
When I get tired of being called my name as I hear it multiple times a day and tend to answer to my last name more often than I answer to my first name. I tell them that they must call me Beautiful Queen.
4. Steak or burger...you have to choose. Now that that's settled, how do you like it?
Burger for sure…although lately I've been leaning towards a good steak every once in awhile. Burger formed into a nice big patty grilled on a bbq paired with veggies and a ice cold beer. Steak medium rare.
5. The Hodgepodge lands on the birthdate (February 12th) of Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States of America. Lincoln is quoted as saying, 'Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test his character give him power.' Do you agree? Why or why not?
Ahh, that is a test. I agree. I think that adversity is a lot easier to deal with than power. Power goes to your head so much and changes people.
6. Honest Abe's image is featured on the US penny (1 cent coin) so I'm wondering...what do you do with your pennies (or your country's equivalent)? It's been suggested the US stop making the penny, and two bills have been introduced proposing just that, but neither were approved. What say you?
I like the penny and think it should stay.
7. Do you think pop culture deserves serious study?
Um, I think it's interesting and it would be interesting to study it, but I don't know if it would be taken seriously.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Two days until I I go far far away to cities I've never been too. I can't wait!
