Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 161

1. Are we always responsible for our actions? Are there any exceptions?

I believe that people should be responsible for their actions and not blame others.  I find too much today that people tend to blame everyone else rather than taking responsibility themselves.  Everyone has a part to play in actions and you should always be responsible for your own...
Although as I'm writing this, I started to think about, "what if you didn't know?" then should you be held responsible for your actions...Hmm, I don't know.

2.  Has anyone from your home town become famous?

Yes, but no one I know personally.  We've had a girl be on Road Rules (an MTV show), Kenny Mane (ESPN), a long snapper for the Texans and currently there is a Speed Skater going to the Olympics.

3. January was National Slow Cooker month. Do you own a slow cooker/crock pot? Did you use it last month? What's a favorite dish you make using a slow cooker or crock pot?

No Way! I didn't know this.  I love my crock pot.  I used it last month to make Taco Soup.  It was yummy.  I tend to make Megan's meat in it or chili, but I'm totally open to making new things.

4. How do you feel about private companies collecting data about you?

I hate private companies getting data on me.  I hate sharing that personal information at all. I'm very careful what I share and whom I share it with.  No way should companies know all the details of my life, yet I have a blog and a facebook and for the most part both of those hold the truth to my life....

5. The Games of the 2014 Winter Olympics kick off with their opening ceremony this coming Friday....will you be watching? Which Winter Olympic event would you most like to see in person? Have you ever been to Russia? Any desire to go, Olympics or otherwise?

Not watching the Opening Ceremonies, but I will probably watch some ice skating, luge, speed skating, some other events here and there.  I would love to go to the Summer games, but pass on the winter ones.  They are too cold for me.  Never want to go to Russia.

6. Share a good or bad sports related memory from your childhood or teen years.

I love sports and have played for a good part of my life.  One day at softball practice when i was in the 6th or 7th grade,  I went to catch a fly ball and totally missed it.  It hit me square in the eye.  I ended up having to ice it and miss out on the rest of practice.

7. What's a must have song for you on a work out play list? If you don't work out, run, swim, bike, walk, or anything else that could be construed as 'exercise', then what's a song that movtivates you to at least get up off the couch?

I workout, like all the time workout, but have no sound track to go with it.  I do like dance music to work out too, though.  Pitbull, Rhiana, Jaime Fox, Beyonce, Pussy Cat Dolls

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

So I too have a favorite P&G commercial...

That was a great story! It's amazing how these athletes work so hard for something that lasts but a moment, or that they may win or lose by 1/16th of a second or some other crazy miniscule time. I love the Olympics and hope he does well!

Hi there! It was nice reading your answers to this week's hodgepodge. I was drawn by your blog title, as I lived in Hawaii and was a hula dancer. I'd love to dance again, but there don't seem to be any halaus nearby. I miss it! Your taco soup recipe looks very yummy! I've never made in a crockpot before; that's such a great idea! I always like to add lime zest to sour cream or greek yogurt, too. (and a little sriracha)

ps. mahalo for the little piece of aloha in my day!

Oh Nina! thanks for checking out my blog. I too love Hawaii and hula. I saw that you are in Washington. There are some halaus around. I dance with one in Federal Way. Your boys are adorable.
