Wednesday Hodgepodge Vol. 125

1. May is National Blood Pressure Month...what sends yours soaring, either literally or figuratively? What calms you down? When did you last have your bp checked?

My blood pressure goes up literally when I know I have to get mine checked and figuratively when I'm deliberately disobeyed.  Calming me down isn't that hard, typically I color, draw, or paint.  I also find exercise helps a lot too.  My bp was last checked the last time I was at the doctor's office.

2. You just found $1-what do you spend it on? How about 10$ 100?

$1: I would probably keep it or add it to some more $ and get a slurpee.
$10: I would buy a coffee or two.
$100: I would probably buy some new bedding.

3. Mandatory labeling of genetically engineered (GE) food has been proposed, but not enacted in the US. How much attention do you give food labels before you buy? Are you in favor of labeling if it means an increase in food prices? Is this an issue you've been following and feel strongly about, or is this the first you've heard of the controversy?

I read food labels when I'm looking to see how many calories, fat calories, sodium, and sugar is in certain food.  That is about it.
Plus this is the first that I've heard of the controversy, so I really have no say or any background knowledge to speak on this.

4. May 15th marks the birthdate of Frank Baum, author of The Wizard of Oz. At this point in time, are you more in need of brains, courage, heart, or a trip back home? Explain.

I'm pretty sure I need some courage. I have some decisions that need to be made and I need courage to make them.  Usually courage is no problem, but these are matters that could change things in my life forever.

5. "There's no place like home" is an oft repeated line from Baum's book. When was the last time you felt the truth of that statement?

I love my place soo much, every time I'm there I love it, especially when we are talking about this "home".

Lately, I've found these sayings to mean the same thing.

6.  Steak...yes please or no thank you? What cut do you prefer and how do you like yours cooked? Sauce or no sauce? Besides your own kitchen, where's a place you like to go to get a great steak?

Love steak, BUT ONLY when it's cut up for me.  No sauce and bbqed!

7. When was the last time you were in a genuine hurry?

I'm hardly ever in a hurry, because I love to get to places early, so I don't have to hurry.  Yet last weekend when my mom and I were going to do the Taste of Seattle tour at Pike Place Market.  We were in a definite hurry. I picked her up late because things weren't printing. Then there was a race in Seattle, so we couldn't go where we needed to be.  Then parking was ridiculously expensive.  We even got called by the people at our tour wondering if we were coming.  I hated every minute of us rushing, but was glad when we got there.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

No other thoughts currently. I'm pretty fried and it's only Wednesday. My kids are ready for summer break and so am I.
