Crafting Weekend

My mantel has been bare most of the summer and now that it's fall, I figured I needed to add some color and decorations to it.  I set my sites on websites for help to decide what would go up.  Lucky for me, one the websites I frequent had a linky party.  That is where a bunch of websites hook up with all their ideas for a specific holiday or project.  I got lost in websites yesterday, looking for the perfect things to add to my design.  I also wanted to make sure that my project didn't just have Halloween things on it, but also fall things, so I could leave it up through Thanksgiving as it's almost Halloween now.

All things that were added to my mantel were things I had (except the pumpkins which were 50cents each, they just needed to be re-purposed.  The banner was made from left over burlap from my burlap wreath.  I painted some of the squares orange and then added the letters to the triangles.

The candle sticks were made by my grandfather and the glass jars I painted during a pintrest painting party.

The bowl, candle, and brown pumpkin were left overs from the years of decorating already

and the howdy punkin' sign I painted up (the wood was found in a storage closet and I had all the paint) after seeing one very similar from the linky party.
