Well, we are back in the swing of the things with school starting TODAY! It was great fun to see all my kids again and know that they were happy to be in my class again (because the last time I moved up with kids -into my 1/2 split- they didn't really want me again.). There were a few (2- and found out that 1 of them is moving in 2 weeks) kids that got moved out of my room and into the other room. I did feel bad for them, as they saw that everyone else was still in my room, but not bad enough to take them back. I did take 3 from the other teacher that will be a challenge and then also added half of the other teacher's kids that didn't move up with us.
Teaching 5th wasn't too bad today, but we sure did over plan activities and my kids didn't get any faster at completing things over the summer, hopefully that will all change over the year. One of the activities we did was have the students answer some questions. One of the questions was "What do you want your teacher to be like?" There were a lot of great answers, such as "a little bit hard and a little bit easy," "nice and fun," and "just fun," but my favorite answer was "just like you, Ms. Chock." hee hee! Yes!
