more Changes...

Obviously if you've been following my blog for the past few weeks and maybe even a few posts on Fb, you will have noticed that life in my world has gone a bit crazy. It was something I really couldn't talk about it before it was announced publicly, so since it has been announced I can announce it to the world....

I'm moving again!!!

It started over a month ago when my principal sent out a paper asking if anyone wanted to change grades. There were 3 spots to write down our choices. I wrote 4th on all of mine and in the comments I wrote, "I'm really happy with the grade level I'm teaching now and don't want to move, but thanks for asking."
I didn't hear anything from her or anyone else about me moving for weeks, while other people were hearing on the daily about different grades they "may or may not" teach. Then 2 weeks ago at 2pm, one of my co-workers found me and told me that I was getting moved to either 5ht or 1st with her and that we had the choice of where we wanted to go and I had to have my decision to her by 2:30pm that same day. All I wanted to do was talk to Riles about the decision. I needed some logic. I had taught 1st before and thought it would be hard to go back to it, but I had never taught 5th before yet I would get to take my kids with me. The way schedules worked I didn't get down to see Riles, but I did get a chance to talk to Nalley and she told me I should do what I wanted to do and not worry about anyone else but myself.
We got called down to the principal's office at 2:30 and finally met with her at 3:00. She had the list up on her whiteboard of where everyone was moving and before the proposition I was being moved to 2nd with one teammate I had worked with before and another teammate that I love as a friend, but worry we wouldn't get along as teammates. The principal told us she wanted to move us because we were strong in literacy and that is the training that is being rolled out next year and she wants us to be trained so we can train others. She also stated that she wanted strong teachers in every area and that is why she was splitting up all teams unless they were pregnant or had other issues. The three of us in the meeting decided we should get pregnant, so we wouldn't have to move.
Needless to say, we decided to go to 5th and for the past 4 days I've been moving all of my stuff. The crazy thing is that the move rotation is insane with a 5 person shift and not everyone runs on the schedule I do, which for some has caused overwhelming feelings. Good thing I've been able to help calm fears (or atleast that is what I think) and push them along, so I could get my stuff in the rooms.
