Our school has a very small space for parents to drop off and pick up their kids; therefore Staff has to work really hard to make sure that everyone is following the rules, so no accidents are caused. This is a really hard job as many parent think they can do whatever they want. The rule is that parents drop off their kids in the front of the school and then the students walk around the building. They can also park and walk their student around if they are nervous that their child isn’t making it around the building. So we work each day drilling it into the student’s/parent’s heads that if they are being dropped off they need to be dropped off in the front and walk around the back.
The other day I was working (aka crossing the students) the back parking lot, which is only used for Preschool parents and buses, and a car rolls in and parks. No pink tag like the preschool parents and nowhere close to the size of a bus. I watched him get a young kid out and walk her to the FRONT of the school. Come on! We work so hard to get them to park in the FRONT and walk to the BACK and this parent was parking in the BACK and walking to the FRONT?!?!? Oh my.
A little later I saw him come out and noticed he was talking to someone who worked here. Later I found out, it was her husband and he had never dropped the young girl off. I told her, she needed to make sure he knew the rules of the school, so he didn’t get in trouble the next time.
