Happenings in My Classroom

This week has been Parent Teacher Conference Week, which has lead to some very interesting conversations that I will be sharing in the next few days. Over the years, it's always been the parents that you don't need to see that show and the ones that you really need to talk to that don't show up. This year, however, I am almost at 100% participation, only 1 has missed so far and yes, it's a parent I would have loved to talk to .
After conferencing with one of my parents the other day, her daughter in my class was doing just fine, I asked the younger sister, how she was doing and the mother just laughed and said that she's getting 1's (equivalent to F's) and she had some questions for the teacher. I asked the daughter why and she just shrugged her shoulders. Then the mom jumped in and said she was eating her homework. I looked at her quizzically and the mom went on further stating that it gets into her backpack at school, but by the time she gets home it's gone, so she must be eating it. HAA HAAAA
