Best Years Of My Life

Back in the day, I lived in Oregon ('88-'90) Best years of my life, well best kid years any way. It was a small town where everyone knew your name. We thought we were the coolest kids around. We could play outside forever, just making sure we were home before it got too late. I was playing softball, basketball, and volleyball, hanging out with my friends, and involved in Camp Fire. Life, I thought, couldn't get any better and it didn't. Until I found out that my dad had gotten a promotion and we were moving to Seattle. I was super upset and ran to my best friend's house to tell her. We cried. It was awful.
To assuage my fears of leaving my parents told me I could move back my senior year...that kind of helped, but I still wasn't too happy about leaving.
Once we moved away, I was unable to find a new Camp Fire group that was close to the same of what I was doing in Oregon, so my parents decided to keep me in my group down in Oregon. We went down at least 4-5 times a year during the school year for meetings and then again during the summer for camp. I think it was the best decision ever. I was able to keep my friends down there and still feel connected, but I was also able to receive my WOHELO.
Since then I have continued many of the friendships I gained while I was down there and am so glad that I did.
This last trip I took a drive out to Hendricks Park, Walterville, and Leaburg and found some wonderful scenery to take photos of.
