Surprise Day

-so I had every intention to post this on Monday or Tuesday, but the week just got away from me. sorry-
My family is super amazing at thinking of new and fun ways to do things that don't necessarily cost a lot of money. For us it is all about the time we spend together and the memories that we gain rather than anything else. As kids and as adults we are constantly creating new games to play, finding new places to visit, and just having a good time together.
This past Sunday, my dad instituted "Surprise Day" He planned a day of fun for my mom and I. He only told us what time we were leaving and that was it. I had a slight premonition that we might be going to the movies (cause a new Hawaiian movie had just come out) but didn't really know anything else.
I got picked up at noon and we headed into Seattle, the first stop was Trophy Cupcakes. My dad had purchased a groupon the day before giving him a dozen cupcakes for $15 normally $33. We tried red velvet, hummingbirds, chocolate mint, vanilla vanilla, and one other kind. They were delicious.

Then we did go and see the movie Princess Ka'iulani.

I really enjoyed the movie and so did my family. To end the evening we went to Buca di Bepo for dinner. It was a fun filled day with surprise after surprise.
My mom is up for the next Surprise Day, so I'm excited to see what she has planned.
