Going back to Cali...to Cali!

This weekend was full of fun, laughter, and little sleep. My halau, Ke'ala 'O Kamailelauli'ili'i and Manawaiopuna participated in Ia 'Oe E Ka La in Pleasanton, California. It was our first time there participating and we had a great time and even brought home some awards! We took first in both kane and wahine soloist. May I present to you Mr. and Mrs. Ia 'Oe E Ka La

Our kane placed first in auana and second in kahiko.
Our palua (mixed guys and girls) placed first in kahiko and second in auana.

And we also won the perpetual award for most group (kane and wahine) points.

Our wahine didn't place, although they did a wonderful job in both kahiko and auana. Plus they looked smashing in their costumes.
