- School is going well. My kids are still learning tons. I hope they are learning enough to be viable 2nd and 3rd grade students. I always worry about that. I teach so many different things and sometimes I worry that all I'm really teaching are life skills and not any of the three R's (reading, riting, and rithmatic) The other drama still exists and I try my best to stay out of it. There are a couple of sticky issues that are being dealt with and have nothing to do with me so I thought I would share: 1. We receive money from the principal for working extra hours on things she deems worthy of her money-it's called principal effective ed. She sends out a list of things we can do to get the money and then signs off on a time sheet when we complete the hours. Principal Effective Ed. is all voluntary. You don't have to work those hours. There is a new thing called CAST, which is a program that helps us to evaluate our students. We meet with our teaching team and the principal for 2 hours after school 3 times a year to discuss these students and what we can do to better help them. Our principal has added it into the Principal Effective Ed hours, so technically it's only optional, yet she tells us it's mandatory...how does that seem right? Plus other schools get subs and do this during the day, why can't we do it that way?
- Hula has been busy with learning new songs and trying to learn how to stay on beat. Sometimes I am so off, I don't know what I'm even thinking...actually I know what I'm thinking and it's not about hula.
- Working out has been not going well. I haven't been going to bed early, so it makes me not want to get up and work out. I've been putting it off and some days only make it to the gym to work out for an hour. There is a new gym that opened up just down the street from my place. It has a pool and everything else like my old place, but it's cheaper. I'm thinking about switching!
- Photography-I haven't had any shoots lately, but know when I get back from Thanksgiving I'll be busy I have three families that want me to do some holiday shooting as there whole family is coming together for the holidays, plus I'm hoping to make it down to Oregon to see some friends.
I guess that is about it, other than I've been trying to get over this cold for forever and it's still with me. I can't wait for Thanksgiving and all the football that will be taking place, plus I'm super excited that Alabama is the #1 team in the BCS standings.
