E Hula Mau

Over Labor Day weekend, Ke'ala 'O Kamailelauli'ili'i and Manawaiopuna participated in E Hula Mau, a hula competition held in Long Beach, California at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center.I had a great time going down and helping out (I drove, helped get the dancers ready, made lei, and took photos.)

We brought home 4 trophies:
2nd Place - Kane (boys) Auana
1st Place - Lei Award - Group Kahiko & Auana (both Kane & Wahine)
3rd Place - Hawaiian Language Awards - Group Kahiko & Auana (both Kane & Wahine)
Na Mamo Spirit of Ohana Award

I was very proud of everyone, especially the girls. They did an amazing job with their kahiko, but still didn't place. With the school starting the day after I got back from California, it took me a longer time to get the photos ready for viewing, but here they are.
