A First

I was over in Spokane about a month ago and I thought I would spend some time with my niece. My sister was off at work and my Bil had to go in for a couple of hours. I was going to brunch with a friend and I thought it would be fun to take my niece with me and to get to spend some one-on-one time with her, since it hadn't ever happened since she was a baby and all she did then was sleep.
Her dad got all her stuff ready, while she took a nap and then left me there to wake her and take her with me. After he left I got a little concerned. When she woke, would she be in a good mood? Would she remember me? Would she cry and want her parents the whole time? I was nervous! I thought, what the heck did I get myself into?
When I went and got her, she rolled over with a smile and then I knew everything would be okay. We got to the restaurant and she needed to be changed, I headed to the bathroom, but found there was no changing table, so I did what any mother would do. I sat on the toilet and put her on my lap and changed her. Lucky for me it wasn't a messy one. She was a doll the whole time we were at breakfast, especially after we got her a little high chair and I was feeding her. She enjoyed her avocado and bananas, but really wanted some of my pancakes, so I gave her some. She did a great job of picking it up off the table and putting it in her mouth for awhile, then she decided to suck it up with her mouth straight from the table. Oh the things she learns and gets away with when she is with her aunty.
We walked around Garland Street after breakfast and then headed to Target for some shopping. They didn't have anything I needed, so we came back home and played until my sis and Bil got home.
All in all we had a fun time.
