I was given the wonderful opportunity to perform with Raiatea Helm and my halau Ke'ala 'O Kamailelauli'ili'i this past weekend. Raiatea, a young hawaiian singer, received a Grammy Nomination for her sophomore CD “Sweet and Lovely” and has won several awards from the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Artists.
I had a wonderful time dancing and sharing my culture. Here are some pictures from our informal shoot, as we waited to get into the auditorium and from the show. Tanya, my hula sister, and I were very fortunate to have Uncle Malcolm and his son take photos from us dancing. Enjoy!
