The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,331 groups with 4,848,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!
Basically it a place to give your stuff away for free, all you have to do is post it online, then the person that wants it comes and gets it at your convenience. You can also ask for stuff, you might need. Here is my ad:
I was looking for a place for my black lamps and old printer, posted it on freecycle and had a handful of people that emailed me within 2 hours of the posting. I picked one of the responders that would take both. She came down to my house, picked up the things and was on her way. She has a friend that helps to furnish apartments for people that come out of jail and that is where my stuff was going. I was super happy that my stuff would be going to a good home rather than filling up another landfill.
People post tons of different stuff on it. You should check it out!
