Horizon Airlines

Planning a trip to Spokane, by plane was easy.

  1. Get online

  2. Enter all the information into the computer for the correct date.

  3. Pick the cheap flights within the times needed for traveling.

  4. Check-in online before you get the airport.

  5. Leave school ASAP with Principal and Vice-Principal watching you leave. (Make some fake funny comment, so they don't realize you are leaving early)

  6. Check your bags and then get told, "There is a DELAY. Just an hour." But an hour none the less.

I waited and waited and waited. I found that Uwajimaya's had a Uwaji's restaurant on Concourse C. They had some spam musubi to tied me over, because I thought I would make it over to my sister's just a little bit later, but later became later and later and later. We were supposed to leave at 5, but didn't even board the plane until 6:30. We then sat on the plane for an hour waiting for fuel. It was ridiculous. The pilots couldn't get anyone over to fuel the plane and even mentioned that it might be a labor dispute. Also while they were talking to us while we waited, they said that the plane ride was going to be bumpy and they wouldn't be able to serve us our complimentary beer or wine. Could the night get any better?

We finally left at 7:30 and arrived at 8:30. So by my calculations, I got to the airport at about 3:45 and finally made my destination at 8:30, which ultimately was a longer time than it would have been if I had driven.

Does anyone know if Horizon/Alaska is one of those airlines that have a bad reputation for being later all the time?

What a bummer!! I usually fly Southwest (and its usually the cheapest) and have never had any problems. Hopefully the trip back is better. Hope you are having fun!
