Loved being back in the gym this week and getting to watch my Sports Center again. It is amazing how many sporting events are going on in October. College Football, NFL, starting of
NHL, and the culmination of a long season of baseball.
Growing up, my family was heavily involved in sports with everyone playing something as well as watching it on weekends. To hear this you might think that my dad was blessed with a household of boys and me, yet he was blessed with two wonderful daughters who would grow to love the games he played and then go on to play them ourselves. I learned to love and understand (for the most part) football as I grew and while my dad coached many a team throughout my life. I came to a better understanding for the love of the game when I moved to the South for the year. Football is life in Alabama. Everyone eats, drinks, and sleeps it. Football happens all year long down there. Stadiums are packed on game night. Towns close down. It's all they talk about. Who's starting, who did well last week, who's the opponent this week. It goes on and on.

This weekend two of my favorite Southern teams face off the LSU Tigers and the Florida Gators. Today I will root for Florida, because when I was a little girl and watching football with my dad Florida was THE team. They were constantly winning and I just feel in love with them, although I have never been there. I cheer for the Gators. I do understand though that LSU has a wonderful team as well and I have actually been to Louisiana and to the stadium and would root for them in any other situation, but not today. Today the game will focus on the Gator quarterback Tebow vs. the Tigers #1 defense. LSU is also currently ranked number 1 and is looking to head of the defending champions Florida. It should be a great game.
