I thought of you today and knew you should have been there.

to wipe away my tears.

to hold my hand.

You should have been there,
to share the inside joke that would have had me giggling all day.

You should have been there,
to get me a drink when mine was gone.

You should have been there,
to dance with me when they played our song.

You just should have been there.
