Butterfly Update

As I took the caterpillars back to school after our mid-winter break, all of them had gone into chrysalises. When I made it to school though, three had fallen from the lid and one had fallen, but had gotten caught by the silk on the side of the cup. I moved them into the new home and hoped for the best.

One emerged after a week and is flying around and eating well. When I left school for this weekend, there were two that looked like they would be emerging over the weekend. The three that fell and now lay on the bottom of the cage, I don't think they will make it.

The kids have been super excited about it all and I have enjoyed watching the butterfly fly around. I will try to get pictures soon, but this is what the one we have looks like.
