Today's Crazy Event

Today was one of my last wedding of the season to go to and although I hadn't really hung out with the bride in a long time I was really looking forward to it. I even took the time to make sure my hair would look hot and wore it up in buns all day yesterday, so it would be super curly today. So I got up and got ready this morning, was looking very hot in my new outfit. E showed up and we left for the church, which was just a hop, skip, and a jump away. We arrived at 12:37 for a wedding that started at 1 and there were only about 5 cars in the parking lot. We thought we would drive around and see if others had parked in a different parking lot, but there no more cars, just people picking up food from the food bank. Well, the only thing I had brought with me was the directions to the reception, I had left the invitation at home. Lucky for us the directions card had a phone number on it, so we called and that is when we found out the most crushing news...the wedding was LAST WEEKEND! What the heck? How could I have mixed up the dates? What was wrong with me? The number 19 and 12 didn't even look the same to get them mixed up. I had no clue what had happened. Although I got a good laugh out of it, I was sad because no one was going to see my hot new outfit. E, on the other hand, wasn't so happy. He too had dressed up and now had no place to go, so we went to L&L and expanded his food taste sensations. He had a double cheese burger and fries, while I dined on kalua pig, rice, mac salad, and spam musubi.
As we drove home, I began to think more and more about how this could have been messed up and what really happened. Once I got home, I was able to put some concrete answers together and now realize it was a comedy of errors, not just one, yet it all turned out well to some extent.
  1. The bride sent an email early on with her wedding date as the 19th of August and I put it on my calendar.
  2. My dad conviently miss placed their wedding invitation, so I received it only weeks before the wedding.
  3. When I finally got the invite, I didn't thoroughly read it because I thought I already knew the date and I just returned the response card because it was due on the 29th of July and that was the day I got the invitation.
  4. Last weekend, I was gone on the Girls Retreat. One of the girls that was suppose to come ended up getting asked to step in to do photography for a wedding that another friend was djaying.
  5. The girl posted pics of the wedding on her website Viper's World and I thought, oh how cute.
  6. One of the pics had a girl I thought that looked familiar in it, but I just let it go, because I knew that the wedding was this weekend.
  7. Yet I though to myself when I was looking at the pictures, wouldn't it be funny if this was the wedding I was supposed to go to but got the weekends wrong and ended up missing it.
  8. I convinced myself I was wrong and that the wedding was today, yet in the long run I really was wrong. My 2 other friends had played intrigal parts in the wedding that I was supposed to be at and now all I will get to do is see the pictures from it.
